My approach
Therapy with me is collaborative, warm, and gently paced. I value curiosity over pressure, and I support you in listening to your body as much as your thoughts.
We typically begin with a free 20-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
For most clients, sessions are held weekly in person in Fremont. I also have limited telehealth availability for clients in Washington State.
Together, we’ll build a plan that may include:
Shorter-term work:
Identifying clear, practical goals based on your priorities
Using solution-focused and strengths-based approaches
Longer-term work:
Using attachment-based therapy to explore and heal deeper patterns and core beliefs
Modalities I draw from include:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Gestalt therapy
Other mindfulness-based and somatic approaches
About me
Hi! I’m Meridith (she/they). I’m deeply passionate about healing from diet culture, body shame, and other oppressive systems, and about supporting people in reconnecting with pleasure, creativity, and freedom.
My own relationship with food and my body shifted significantly ten years ago when I learned about intuitive eating and began my own healing process.
I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University in 2025, with a focus on mindfulness-based therapy. I completed my clinical internship in eating disorder care, working from a Health at Every Size (HAES®) framework.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in public health and health care administration. I earned a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology and gender & sexuality studies from Haverford College.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy going to parks with my chosen family and kids, reading poetry, and trying out new bakeries.
